& Other Stories is a brand under the H&M Group established in 2013. Their collections are built around inspiring fashion stories and building outfits to represent you and your personality. I visited the & Other Stories store in the Bentall Centre, Kingston and I was very impressed with the store as a whole
The store was extremely well laid out you can tell a lot of thought has gone into the layout and presentation of it all. The clothes are hung very neatly on metal clothes rails giving the store a
slight industrial feel with numerous spot lights around the store. When walking around the store I realised that collections as well as colours were all grouped together in areas.
Around all of the clothing, accessories and stationary there were lots of plants and cacti. This didn’t just make the store look pretty but they were a way of showing that the company is very close with nature. That a lot of thought and care goes into how and where their clothes were produced. Making sure that what they sell has been made in the most economically friendly way.
Other elements of the store that I really loved was the beauty section with the gorgeous sink and various beauty products to try. There was a stand at the front of that section, a mannequin wearing an apron saying “Recycling with us is easy.” “Bring any textiles or our empty beauty containers to the store and get a 10% thank-you-treat.” This just shows that the company is very much into ethical fashion and upcycling which I think is fantastic. They’re encouraging the customers to recycle and in return they’re offering them 10% off.
After talking to some members of staff asking questions about the store and its current collections their LA Collection has been a big hit, being the most popular at the moment. This collection was displayed in the main front windows of the shop as well as its own designated area when you walk in. It’s the first collection that you see which is why it must be the top seller at the moment.
& Other Stories have very modern and beautiful stores which are certainly worth a visit to.
