Karen suggested us taking a visit to a coffee shop called Naked in Bournemouth because they use bright pops of different colours in their shop as well as the metal stalls we are looking at getting for the stand. Iain also suggested looking into a coffee shop called Coffee and Dice in Boscombe which uses scaffolding with an industrial look to it.

Myself and Sian took a trip to the Naked Cafe in Bournemouth and took a few photos of the shop. They have used bright colours in a very appealing way without it looking childish and tacky. We really liked the brightly coloured chairs and stalls which is something we will now consider for the stand. Another element we liked was the use of colour along the edges of the tables which is something that we could do when it comes to decorating the tables we have for portfolios and publications.

I put together a moodboard of Sian and I’s photographs we took at the Naked Cafe and the stalls and tables at uni within the arts bar and canteen. As we did not take a visit to Coffee and Dice we found some photos online of the shop which I have also included into the moodboard. We will reference to this as inspiration when souring the scaffolding poles as well as the metals stalls.

I began to look at rails and furniture which had been made out of scaffolding poles to see what we wanted the rails to look like and how big it will need to be. I also screenshooted a few photographs of different poles and fixtures from the website I found which sells scaffolding separately. From this we can begin to create some designs of rails.
