This week myself and Sian have been looking online on various different websites for hours trying to find the stalls, clothing rails and storage cabinets for the Graduate Fashion Week Stand. We have narrowed it down to the most affordable and well suited to the colours of the stand, this is something that will be bought after easter.
At first we were not sure if we were to construct the scaffolding poles ourself for the rails or if we were to have them custom made. After talking to the people who are in charge of the canteen and arts bar furniture they got in contact with the suppliers who made the bespoke scaffolding tables and benches which was far too expensive for us to fund. Therefor Sian has found some affordable already made rails which will suit the stand perfectly.
On the stand we will be using last years OSB Tables, to introduce our colour palette into the tables I have designed 13 different table top designs. These designs will me applied to the tables by vinyl stickers. The table designs use shapes and lines which I designed after talking to a few of the level 6 students. On Monday myself and the other members of the class narrowed it down to 4 different designs.
Later on that day we had a visit by Iain and El to see how the class was getting on since our last meeting with Iain. We presented them our recent work which they were very pleased with and are happy with us to pursue further. After this meeting we shall continue to have everything prepared and confirmed for when we come back after easter to order everything for the graduate fashion week stand.
Yesterday myself, Sian, Yoko and Elle took on the role of being apart of the model casting. At first it was not very well organised we were all very confused as to what was going on as we did not have a prior meeting to decide on who was doing what role and when. The models were being sent from one place to another by different people who had been told different things. Us 4 managed to sort out a solution ourselves, group all of the models together in one place which ran a lot smoother in the end. Myself and Sian were taking the models to and from the model casting meeting in small groups of 5, whilst Elle and Yoko were taking some of the models measurements who did not have them available to hand in. Once this routine was in order everything ran a lot smoother which we believe worked really well in the end. I believe the casting was a huge success as a lot of models turned up who seemed very suitable for both NIL and the Bournemouth Show. I am looking forward to see which models will be selected after easter.
